The responses to the questions, “Where are you?” or “Where is the National Library of Korea?”, will most likely include the natural geographical or human geographical features of the location where the respondent is present or the location of the National Library of Korea. So, it is more of a description of a “place” or a “space” that includes an explanation of the characteristics of the location and its surroundings. Thus, when asked, “Where is Dokdo?”, we may explain its location based on the longitude and latitude, but we are more likely to say, “The East Sea.” Here, users can better explore the East Sea, where Dokdo is located, through the antique and modern maps of Korea as well as the antique maps produced in the West.
