This thesis aims at informing and criticizing a book entihed "The Secret of Honam Region" in "SAN-RI Tong-kam-Introduction to geomancy" in formation of the world handwritten by the present writer's deceased father while he was alive. Compared with Paul-Ambroises volery's poesis pure, "the secret" seemed to have concentrated on transmitting sense rather than giving inspiration. When viewing the attitudes of current Korean scholary field which are interested in the theory of geomancy-it was firmly belivved that burying one's parents at an 'evil site' would invoke wrath of the ancestral spirits, whereas a 'lucky site' would bring good fortune to offsprings-and the study of Taoism, this attemprs might not be regarded as senseless. In addition to "The secret of Honam Region", "A secret of Gam" and its criticism, excerpts of Chong-Hak Even though the theory of geomancy was harmful to the Korean nations, it must not be discarded so long as it is formed even to theory. It may be a world of superstition which caused no harm and a sphere connected with the world of fairy taleso However the theory of geomancy might be a harmful superstition in the past, poems and novels can be originated making use of the materials from it after becoming known the facts therim. Suffice it to say that by doing so the world of our imagination can be enriched. The theory of geomancy ought to be studied in the literary side, and connecting together with it the thought of 'fairy spirits' is capable of being pursued under such purposes upon consideration with mythological literature.
